Poly MGM Museum Opened in Macao
On November 15th, the opening ceremony of the Poly MGM Museum, jointly developed by Poly Culture and MGM, was held at the Grande Pra?a of MGM Macao. The event was attended by Mr. Ho Iat Seng (Chief Executive of the Macao S.A.R.), Mr. Edmund Ho (Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference), Mr. Lu Yuyin (Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R.), Mr. Liu Xianfa (Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Macao S.A.R.), Mr. Li Qun (Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and Director of the National Cultural Heritage Administration), Ms. Ao Ieong U (Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao S.A.R. Government), Mr. Liu Hualong (Chairman of Poly Group), Mr. Zhang Hao (Director of Poly Group), and Ms. Pansy Ho (Chairwoman and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited).
Mr. Liu Hualong said that Poly Group and MGM will take this cooperation as a new opportunity to further?position Macao as “One Center, One Platform, One Base,” boost Macao’s image as a world tourism and leisure center, enrich and spread the Chinese civilization, broaden the scope of mutual learning, and jointly write a new chapter in the era of shared goodness.
Ms. Pansy Ho said that MGM is honored to join hands with Poly to add a tourism landmark to Macao and a cultural temple to the motherland. The Poly MGM Museum will shoulder a new historical mission in the new era, promoting exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign cultures and arts and telling the story of China to the world.
The guests cut the ribbon for the museum’s first exhibition. More than 200 guests attended the event, including Mr. Feng Xiaofeng (President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited), leaders of the Macao SAR Government, representatives of Macao’s education, cultural and tourism sectors and business circles, representatives of community service organizations, representatives of domestic and foreign cultural and art museums and cultural institutions, ambassadors of the European Union in China, foreign consuls in Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR, national athletes, and relevant responsible comrades of Poly Culture.
The Poly MGM Museum is a joint effort between Poly Culture and MGM to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region. The museum invites internationally renowned artists to participate in the creation of the exhibition, integrates design concepts such as cloisonné filigree enamel craftmanship?and Chinese corbel?bracket, uses cutting-edge technologies such as the directional sound system?and the?interactive cultural relics display cabinet with Poly’s patented OLED screen, and selects cultural relics and artistic elements from major countries along the “Belt and Road.” The museum?is committed to creating a world-class cultural and tourism landmark with the beauty of intangible cultural heritage and building a bridge for global cultural dialogue. The museum’s first exhibition, titled “The Maritime Silk Road – Discover the Mystical Seas and Encounter the Treasures of the Ancient Trade Route,” showcases more than 200 precious cultural relics related to the Maritime Silk Road, elucidating the vivid story of the integration and mutual learning between Chinese and Western cultures.?
